Transportation
By car, train, plane or ferry, accessing the city of Le Havre is very easy. Most people choose to travel by plane, but some use the railway and motorways.
Getting in
Le Havre has a small airport with flights mainly to and from Lyon, Amsterdam and Brighton, but there are also many connections to and from European destinations in Lyon and more than 200 all over the world via Amsterdam.
Le Havre Gare SNCF is 2km west of Town Hall. Trains from Paris stop here regularly and a trip takes about 2 hours. There is also a TGV from Marseille once a day.
Le Havre is linked to the rest of the country by the Normandy Bridge. Le Havre is about 200km from Paris on the A131 and has good motorway connections to the rest of France.
There are ferries running to Portsmouth and Newhaven in southern England daily. The services are operated by LD lines.
Getting around
The centre of town is easily covered on foot, but you can also rent a bike for a few euros at the tourist office. There is also a local bus service which runs regularly around town.
