Going on a shopping spree in Le Havre
Shopping in Le Havre shouldn’t take much effort. All you need is a little stamina and a credit or debit card and you can leave the city with some wonderful souvenirs that will surely make the trip memorable.
The first place to stop on your little shopping spree is the Grand Centre area with pedestrianised streets and a covered market. Next stop is the Saint Vincent district with its traditional boutiques, at a 5 minutes walk from the Town Hall. To shop some more head to the Notre Dame – Southampton area of the city, which offers not only small boutiques but also restaurants and hotels. This area of Le Havre is located just past the famous Saint Francis quarter, a group of narrow streets, with a choice of charming restaurants and bars near the P&O terminal. This area is also known for holding a fish market every afternoon. After visiting Saint Francis, a stop in the Thiers-Coty quarter is highly recommended. Here among the many boutiques you’ll also be able to find shops and department stores as well as a market open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
The last stop on the shopping itinerary is the Rond-Point district, past the railway station, where you’ll find a great market open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The small shopping spree around Le Havre shouldn’t take you mach more than a couple of hours. But just in case it does and afterwards you feel a little tired, you should definitely go out, have a drink, relax and finish the night with a good dose of beauty sleep.
